  1. How do I begin getting humorous essays published? One freelancer said that one sells the idea before doing the piece. Can you recommend a starting point? Much appreciated,

  2. I’m writing an adventure novel. Read your article on ‘Hobart’ and saw your website. I blog everyday, as a warm up for the main writing of the book. It gets me in the chair every day. (Butt2chair) Gave your website a plug in my last Blog post. In LA for book signing, I’ll come by and say, ‘HI.’

  4. Hi Melissa,

I read your article in the October issue of The Writer magazine, and it brought me here. Then I checked out your book trailer on YouTube. Great trailer! Did I meet you at the PNWA Summer Writer’s Conference in Seattle one year? You look so familiar. Seems like we met there.

Check out my Latina YA book trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BDM8Cr__smI

I used Animoto to create my trailer, but yours is homey and cute. It made me laugh!

Who’s your agent? I’m with Liz Kracht of Kimberley Cameron and Associates.

I couldn’t find your e-mail on the “About” page or anywhere else, so I’m just leaving a comment here. I suppose you can delete it if you like. Sorry I couldn’t e-mail you.

You aren’t, by any chance, a member of Critique Circle, the online critique forum, are you? I’m always looking for good beta readers on Critique Circle–someone who, like me, is already agented or darn good–and your writing is definitely good. If you are a member of CC, watch for me. I go by “esparhawk” on CC.

    Chelly
